July 28, 2004

Approved August 11, 2004

Present at meeting:  John D. Flynn, Joseph “Charlie” Dolben, Robert Majkut, Melissa Reeves

Absent: Joseph Kruzel

Rediker Software Case 2004-J – John D. Flynn introduced the Board and read the Statement of Authority. The notice that was advertised in The Reminder was read. The applicant: Richard Rediker, Rediker Software2 Wilbraham Road and Gary Weiner, Ectotec Environmental, 180 Denslow Road, East Longmeadow, MA were present. Rediker is applying for a Special Permit under Section 6.11 Water Supply Protection Overlay District -6.117 (1) (b.) Weiner presented the Board with a Stormwater Drainage Review for Rediker Software. Weiner pointed out the building will be enlarged by twenty five percent which is under 6.117 b. 4. The Stormwater Management Plan was submitted to the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection. The Plan meets the all the performance standards for Section 6.116. The detention area was original built to accommodate the size of the new building and meets all guidelines put out by the State. All the guidelines by the State are met for the infiltration system as well. The calculations were based upon U.S.D.A. Soil Conservation Service Mapping and verified by percolation tests. There is a dry well and infiltration system on the site. One of the biggest problems is water from a twenty four hour storm or a one hour heavy downpour. The trenches in the infiltration system are oversized to accommodate quick water. The proposed construction design incorporates erosion and sediment controls. Joseph Dolben asked if contaminates getting into the ground water was a problem. Weiner pointed out it was not a problem with the system on the property.

The Special Permit was voted on and approved unanimously (4-0)

Public Hearing adjourned at 7:20
